Privacy Policy

FingShip is designed as a local-first Mac app. The App Store edition does not require a FingShip account, send product analytics or advertising identifiers, or upload project evidence to a FingShip cloud service.

Information the app uses

FingShip reads only project folders you choose. It saves a read-only security-scoped bookmark so it can continue watching an approved folder. FingShip can also capture an exact app window you select after macOS grants Screen Recording permission. The bundled Safari extension can follow one tab only after you click its toolbar button, confirm the hostname and project, and choose Follow this tab. It uses active-tab access rather than broad site access, pauses when you switch tabs, and ends approval when the site changes, the tab closes, you stop it, or either app restarts. Project evidence, screenshots, Briefing definitions, last-delivered baselines, history, and generated artifacts are processed and stored locally on your Mac.

Sensitive credential locations, including .ssh, .gnupg, .codex, and .agents, are outside FingShip’s project evidence boundary. FingShip does not require access to those folders.

Purchases and beta testing

Apple processes App Store purchases and locally supplies FingShip with verified entitlement status. FingShip does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple’s privacy terms apply to App Store and TestFlight activity. If you use TestFlight, Apple may make crash or diagnostic information available according to your TestFlight and device settings.

Email and support

If you request the beta or contact support, you voluntarily provide the contents of your email. FingShip does not automatically attach projects, screenshots, Briefings, or local diagnostics to support messages. Please send only what is necessary to answer your request.

Retention and control

Local data remains until you remove it in FingShip or delete the app’s local data. Files you export remain wherever you saved them. Canceling Pro does not delete local data or readable Briefing history. Because FingShip data does not sync between Macs, each Mac has its own local history and baselines.
